Cemetery Services

The Municipality maintains four cemeteries within the municipal boundaries, including three active cemeteries.

The Municipality offers services regarding plot and columbarium niche purchases, burial requests, internment rights information updates, map viewing and cemetery record searches.

Our Cemeteries

Dunks Bay Cemetery

Dunks Bay Cemetery

88 Dunks Bay Road

On November 25, 1908, Henry B. and Mary Ann Davis deeded this property for a cemetery to be used by the residents of St. Edmunds Township.

Eastnor Cemetery

Eastnor Cemetery

110 Cemetery Road

The Eastnor Cemetery was originally recorded as a cemetery on February 8, 1878. Eastnor Cemetery had a columbarium installed in 2022. 

Stokes Bay Cemetery

Stokes Bay Cemetery

34 Woodstock Avenue

Stokes Bay Cemetery was originally transcribed in the late 1970s. The earliest recorded date of death is 1880.

Mcvicar Cemetery

McVicar Cemetery

144 Hidden Valley Road

This is an inactive, historical cemetery only. McVicar Cemetery was purchased by James H. Watson, Jr., from Peter and Rebecca McVicar for the sum of $15.00 on September 28, 1898.

Monuments

Pursuant to Section 10 and Section 11 of By-Law Number 2022-11, which set out the rules and regulations pertaining to the installation of markers and monuments for the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula Cemeteries, the below form and required fee must be provided to the Municipality to make arrangements for the installation of a monument or marker.

Columbarium

The Municipality offers a columbarium option at Eastnor Cemetery, as seen in the picture below.

Interment Rights Information

Pursuant to the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 31/11s.161(1) and all amendments thereto, no Cemetery Operator shall be permitted to inter human remains in a lot, other than the remains of the Rights Holder(s), without the written consent of the Rights Holder(s).
