Hospital

Brightshores Health System, Lion's Head Hospital, is located at 22 Moore Street. The hospital has four beds available for in-patient care and offers diagnostic imaging, laboratory and physiotherapy services in addition to 24 hour emergency care.

Peninsula Family Health Team

The Peninsula Family Health Team provides primary medical care for rostered patients only. Care is provided by four family physicians, one nurse practitioner, nurses and allied health care professionals who work from both the Lion's Head location (24 Moore Street) and the Tobermory Medical Centre (7275 Highway 6).

The Tobermory Medical Centre houses one of the few hyperbaric chambers in the Province supporting underwater diving and private treatment for medical conditions under the direction of Dr. George Harpur.

Physician Recruitment

Physician recruitment and retention in Northern Bruce Peninsula occurs in a partnership between the Peninsula Family Health Team (PFHT) and the Municipality. We actively liaise with medical students, locums and residents along with the local family physicians to promote public education programs throughout the community.
