Joint Bruce County 2026 Election Compliance Audit Committee

About the Committee:

The Compliance Audit Committee is an independent body established under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Its job is to review applications for audits of election campaign finances to ensure rules are followed.

If an audit is needed, an independent auditor reviews the campaign’s records, and the Committee may take further action based on the findings. This process helps promote transparency, accountability, and public confidence in municipal and school board elections.

Who Should Apply

We are looking for individuals with backgrounds in:

Accounting or auditing
Law (municipal or administrative)
Other regulated professions
Knowledge of municipal election campaign finance rules

Who Is Not Eligible

You cannot apply if you are:

A member of Council or a local board
A municipal employee or officer
A candidate or registered third party in the 2026 election
Someone who prepares financial statements for municipal candidates

Term

November 15, 2026 - November 14, 2030

Covers the 2026 Municipal Election and any by-elections during that Council term.

Meetings

Meetings are held as needed, may be virtual or in person, and are generally open to the public.

Remuneration

This is a paid position, with compensation provided for time worked and mileage reimbursed in accordance with municipal policy.
