Volunteer Recognition

The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula’s Annual Volunteer Recognition Day celebrates the dedication and contributions of volunteers who make a difference in our community. This is your opportunity to acknowledge individuals or organizations-whether a team member, executive, coach, parent, group, or supporter-who deserve special recognition and appreciation for their outstanding efforts.

Nominating a Volunteer

To nominate a volunteer, individuals and organizations can submit a form detailing the volunteer’s achievements, their role, and the impact they’ve had on the community.

Eligibility

To be nominated for the Volunteer Recognition award, an individual or community group must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a volunteer in the Municipality;
  • Be a resident, own a business, or attend school in the Municipality; and
  • Groups must be a non-profit community group based in the Municipality.  

Those who are not eligible to be nominated include:

  • Elected officials of the Municipality; and
  • Municipal staff.  

Nomination Deadline: March 23, 2026

Presentation of Awards

The award will be presented to the nominee at the annual Volunteer Recognition Event, hosted by the Municipality during National Volunteer Week in April.

Volunteer Recognition Policy

The purpose of this policy is to provide a guiding framework for Council to recognize volunteers whose efforts have contributed significantly to the quality of life in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula. This policy relates to individuals that are residents of the Municipality, owners of a business in the municipality or attend school in the municipality acting in a volunteer capacity that provide programs and services to the residents of the Municipality to help enrich their quality of life.
