The Fire Danger Rating for the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula is currently high. No open-air burning is allowed without a permit. All fires must have adequate tools and resources to extinguish the fire and must be supervised at all times.
On July 20th, 2023 a lightning strike ignited a tree, which then fell onto a high voltage overhead line, causing damage to the transformer which feeds power the E-Charging Stations located at the Tobermory Community Complex. As a result, power has been disrupted to the EV charging stations. Rest assured, the ChargerQuest team is actively collaborating with Hydro One to restore power and bring the charging stations back to full operation as quickly as possible.
