Notice of Public Meeting - Community Improvement Plan

NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PLAN PURSUANT TO SECTION 28 OF THE PLANNING ACT

Take Notice that the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula will hold a statutory public meeting on the 26th day of June 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Municipal Council Chambers 56 Lindsay Road 5, Lion’s Head, Ontario to consider the updated Community Improvement Plan (CIP) under Section 28(4) of the Planning Act.

The Community Improvement Plan provides existing commercial/industrial businesses with financial incentives to improve their building’s exterior facades, signage and/or building interior. Financial incentives will be in the form of grants and/or loans as made available through the Community Improvement Plan for eligible applicants. The updated CIP is available for review on the Municipal website at www.northernbrucepeninsula.ca 

Eligible applicants/properties are those operating as a commercial/industrial use and are commercially/industrially zoned and/or commercially/industrially assessed (partially or fully) and meet the full list of criteria specified in the CIP. The CIP will be available for eligible properties in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

If you wish to be notified of the adoption of the Community Improvement Plan, you must make a written request to Clerk of the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula at the address noted below.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula before the Bylaw adopting the Community Improvement Plan is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula before the Bylaw is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.

Additional information regarding the Community Improvement Plan is available for inspection from Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 4:30pm at the Municipal Office at 56 Lindsay Rd 5, Lion’s Head, on the municipal website at  www.northernbrucepeninsula.ca   or by emailing the Regional Economic Development Coordinator, Christina Tennyson CTennyson@brucecounty.on.ca
