Comprehensive Land Policy for the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula

At its regular Council meeting on March 23, 2026, Council for the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula passed a by-law to adopt a Comprehensive Land Policy.

The policy establishes a clear framework and outlines the procedures for both the acquisition and disposition of municipal land at a governance level. All applications to purchase municipal land will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and must comply with the procedures and applicable fees set out in the policy.

Section 270(1)1 of the Municipal Act, 2001 requires municipalities to adopt and maintain policies governing the sale and other disposition of land. The Comprehensive Land Policy was developed to fulfill this legislative requirement and to support consistent, transparent decision-making.
