Municipal Strategies and Plans
Municipalities undertake the development and consultation for the creation of plans and strategies for a variety of reasons. The purpose and intent is often to provide structure and vision for the responsible management of various Municipal resources and to attain and fulfill core priorities as well as to provide guidance for the implementation, evaluation and reporting of initiatives.

The Asset Management Plan serves as a strategic, tactical and financial document ensuring the management of the municipal infrastructure follows sound asset management practices and principles while optimizing available resources and establishing desired levels of service. The performance of a community's infrastructure provides the foundation for its economic development, competitiveness, prosperity, reputation and the overall quality of life for its residents.
The Attainable Housing Strategy provides insight into the housing needs and challenges in Northern Bruce Peninsula and a suite of recommendations and actions that will enable Council to take decisive action on improving the attainable housing outcomes in the community.
The Climate Action Plan is the community's response to the many challenges posed by climate change. It is the culmination of many months work which began with the appointment of the Municipal Climate Action Committee in 2020. Through the generous support of the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association, funding by the Environment and Climate Change Canada, as well as a variety of other community organizations, the project team engaged all corners of our community to develop an ambitious but practical plan that Northern Bruce Peninsula can be proud of.

The purpose of the Bruce County Official Plan is to establish a policy framework to guide the physical, social and economic development of the County and to protect the natural environment within the County to the year 2021. The Waterfront Revitalization Study involved a review and evaluation of the existing conditions and facilities at the waterfront to understand the current context and to identify opportunities for improvement. The revitalization of the Lion's Head waterfront will enhance the waterfront experience, and is an important step towards managing increasing demand for access and a range of activities for residents and seasonal visitors.

The Parks and Recreation Master Plan was prepared to establish a clear action plane to lead the Municipality in the development of future parks and recreation infrastructure and services. The Plan will provide the Municipality with the necessary framework to manage its parks, open spaces, programs, events, facilities and waterfront areas. It will also support the Municipality in its capital budget planning, operational resourcing requirements, and future grant applications.

The Roads and Sidewalks Need Study was developed to aid the Municipality in setting their road network capital plan. The report provides a snapshot of road conditions in 2021, improvement needs, as well as costing and funding estimates. The findings of this report should be used as a decision-making tool in developing the Municipality’s annual road maintenance and rehabilitation program, and determining estimated funding requirements to maintain a desired level of service.

The main goal of the Service Delivery and Modernization Review report is, by building on the Municipality's strengths, to provide a practical pathway for the implementation of the changes that will ensure the Municipality is future ready to continue to deliver on citizens' expectations and remain a reliable steward of taxpayers' money and the Municipality's wellbeing.
