Notice: Ontario Building Code (OBC) Amendments
Please be advised that, effective January 1, 2022, the Ontario Building Code (OBC) has been amended as it relates to stairs, guards and handrails, referenced in Division B Part 9 of the Code. Please review the Ontario Building Code reference, appendix reference and the slideshow presentation.
Complete Building Permit applications and developer certified models with sitings submitted for OBC review prior to the end of 2021, will be reviewed and processed under the OBC provisions applicable to that time. However, applications received after December 31, 2021, will be reviewed under the new OBC provisions.
These changes may have significant impact to the construction and/or design of proposed projects or buildings. We encourage all applicants, designers and developers to review and implement these updates, as it relates to your project, as soon as possible.

Applying for a building permit online
The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula is excited to offer its residents and builders CloudPermit. CloudPermit is an online system that allows applicants to apply and track building permit applications at any time, and anywhere.
Using our User Guide for Cloudpermit, you can easily apply for your next project today.

For building related fees, please reference the Frequently Requested By-laws page for the most recent Fees and Charges By-law. Cash, cheque or online payment with credit card through CloudPermit are the accepted means of payment for building permits. |

Notice: Housekeeping By-law 2022-47 Please review By-law 2022-47 for information on the amendments to our Zoning By-law 2002-54, As Amended. Please also reference our slideshow presentation for a breakdown of these changes.
The Comprehensive Zoning By-law manages land use within the Municipality. It states how land can be used, standards for use, and location and use of buildings and structures. You are encouraged to view the Zoning Map Schedules to Zoning By-law 2002-54. Bruce County Mapping allows members of the public to search properties by roll number, address, etc. You can apply various layers to the map, such as zoning and aerial views. |
