Lion's Head Harbour

Lion's Head Harbour

The Lion's Head Harbour offers 203 seasonal, monthly and transient slips on 20' and 40' finger docks. Wharf tie-ups are also available. 30 and 50 amp electrical services are available on some finger docks. Ethanol free gasoline, ultra low sulphur diesel, launch ramp, washrooms, showers, pump outs, WIFI, mast crane and winter storage all available. Current policies and procedures

The current policies and procedures for the Lion's Head Harbour are available in the Lion's Head Harbour Policy Handbook. In 2017 Planmac Engineering completed an operational assessment of the Lion's Head Harbour and submitted the Final Operational Assessment Report to the Municipality in the fall of 2017. Planmac addressed areas such as the break wall, parking and the lighthouse.

Getting a seasonal slip

If you are interested in getting a seasonal slip at the harbour, complete a Waiting List Application Form. Please be advised we are not accepting any new vessels into the harbour larger than 34' overall length. 

The Lion's Head Harbour Lease for Berthing is for current 2023 slipholders only. To apply for a slip in the Harbour, please fill out the Waiting List Application Form. 

Surrounding areas and events 

The Harbour is conveniently located in the heart of Lion's Head.  The Lion's Head Beach Park Campground, sand beach, playground, pavilion, grocery store, hardware store, bank, pharmacy and food establishments are all within walking distance. There is also a viewing platform, lighthouse, memorial gardens and Harbourside live music performed every Friday night throughout the summer months. 

Tobermory Harbour

The Tobermory Harbour, also known as Little Tub Harbour, offers seasonal, monthly and transient slips on the main wharf and finger docks. These docks can hold vessels up to 125'. 30 and 50 amp electrical services are available. A large fueling dock offers ethanol free gasoline and ultra-low sulphur diesel. Other features include a launch ramp, washrooms, showers, pump outs, WIFI, mast crane and outdoor winter storage. For a listing of rates and fees, please see Section 13 of the Municipality's Fees and Charges By-law.

In 2016 Planmac Engineering completed an operational assessment of the Tobermory Harbour and submitted the Final Operational Assessment Report to the Municipality in December of 2016.

Getting a recreational or seasonal slip

The Tobermory Harbour has a very lengthy waiting list for both recreational and commercial slips. It may be several years before a slip may become available.

Surrounding areas and events 

The Harbour is located in downtown Tobermory falling within the Fathom Five National Marine Park. There are restaurants, gift shops and a grocery store within walking distance. Many tour and diving boats port here. There are shipwrecks and several islands to discover including Flowerpot Island.
