The primary role of the Building Department is to promote and assist development in compliance with Federal, Provincial, County and local regulations.  By enforcing building codes and assisting builders, the Municipality ensures that the structures are safe, not only for today but for many years to come.

Building permits are required for all structures occupying an area greater than 10 square meters, sewage systems and all structures containing plumbing.

If you work in construction, the rules for mandatory Workplace  Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) coverage have changed.  Do you run your own construction business?  Are the the purchaser of construction services?  Big or small, with workers or without, you still need to know what's changed.  Find out what it means to you.

Contractors are reminded that forty-eight (48) hours notice shall be given when booking an inspection.  Please contact Tessa Townson at (519) 793-3522, X226 (or email to to book all inspections.
