The public is welcome at all Council and Committee meetings (including those scheduled for budget purposes).  In order to have the opportunity to speak at a Council or Committee meeting  a delegation must be scheduled with the Clerk. Anyone wishing to view any by-law or agenda document(s) is encouraged to contact the Municipal Clerk on the Friday preceding the Council meeting.

Anyone wishing to view, discuss and/or provide written comments on any by-law (or agenda document) or submit Correspondence for the Council Agenda, he/she shall provide same to the Clerk at the Municipal Office located at 56 Lindsay Road 5, R. R. #2, Lion's Head, Ontario, N0H 1W0 no later than 12 Noon on the Wednesday preceding the Council Meeting.

GENERAL NOTICES

The Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula will hold a Public Meeting with respect to the draft Fees and Charges by-law on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 56 Lindsay Road 5, R. R. #2, Lion's Head, Ontario.  The draft Fees and Charges by-law is now posted.  Written comments will be received by the Clerk no later than Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 12 Noon. 

2018 Municipal Funding--local groups and organizations are invited to submit an application for Municipal Funding in 2018.  The 2018 Municipal Funding Policy and Application form are available at the Municipal Office.  A Special Council Meeting will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers, 50 Lindsay Road 5, R. R. #2, Lion's Head, Ontario to receive delegations from groups/organizations seeking Municipal Funding for 2018.  Appointments for these delegations must be arranged with Charlotte Martindale at accountspayable@northernbruce.ca or by calling (519) 793-3522, X221.  Deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, November 17, 2017.

Waste/Recycling Collection Update:  Please take note that collection scheduled for Monday, December 25, 2017 will be collected Saturday, December 23, 2017 and January 1, 2018 collection will be completed on Saturday, December 30, 2017.

Effective Friday, March 31, 2017, the rural waste disposal bins and the recycling bins at the Recycling Depots located at 2942 Highway 6, Ferndale and 7045 Highway 6, Tobermory were removed to allow the complete transition to the new curbside waste and recycling collection program.  Recycling depots at Waste Disposal Sites will remain and will continue to accept recyclable materials on a permanent basis.  Residents can still dispose of waste and recyclable materials at a Waste Disposal Site during regular hours of operation plus, for your convenience, the Lindsay Landfill Site is open from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Sundays.  Your continued cooperation and patience is appreciated.  Please contact the Public Works Department if you have any questions or require further information.

Scheduling of rentals at the Lion's Head Rotary Hall, 59 Main Street, is being facilitated by the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.  Please contact Cheri Hofstrand at (519) 793-3522, X222 or via email at accountsreceivable@northernbruce.ca for complete details. 

Water sample bottles will be picked up at the Municipal Office on Wednesday at 12:00 Noon.  Water tests should be taken no more than one (1) hour prior to pick-up.

ATTENTION to all groups, organizations and event organizers!  A licence is required to operate a lottery-raffle, 50/50, break open tickets, bingos, etc.  Unlicensed lottery schemes in Municipally-owned facilities are strictly prohibited as stated in the rental agreement.  Please contact the Municipal Office for information.
 


Energy Consumption and Green House Gas Emissions Report

The Ontario Regulation 397/11 under the Green Energy Act 2009 requires public agencies (municipalities, municipal service boards, universities, colleges and hospitals) to report on their energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions annually beginning in 2013, and to develop and implement a five (5) year Energy Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) Plan starting in 2014 and updated every five (5) years.
